Sundays at The Rock

Our Sunday morning meetings are our “family get together”. Anyone who comes expecting a traditional church service may be in for a surprise, but we believe we’re trying to model how God wants the church to be.

We pray “thy kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven”, and we believe that heaven is going to be a family celebration. So we model this when we meet as a church here on earth. It’s a time to catch up with news, to have a cup of coffee and enjoy each others’ company. As we meet each other, we also meet with God, so we spend time praying, worshiping and learning from the Bible.

Everyone is welcome; you don’t need to be a Christian to belong to The Rock (although we’re delighted whenever anyone does discover the joy of following Jesus).

Children are welcome to join in with everything we do – we don’t believe in segregating people according to age, and we definitely don’t mind if children make a noise.

We try to ring the changes and experiment with different types of meeting. We might focus on prayer, or worship or Bible study. Once a month we have communion. We enjoy using technology to help our Christian lives, and will often project songs or videos which have been downloaded from the internet.

Take a look at our calendar to see what’s coming up soon.

God Loves Us Where He Finds Us; But He Loves Us Enough Not To Leave Us There

The Rock is full of people who can tell their story of how God has met them and turned their lives around. That’s our story and it can be yours too!

We’re an independent church based in Chalfont St Giles, Bucks, England.

Our aim is  to be a loving and caring Christian community that welcomes everyone no matter what their previous experiences.  Life is never simple, and we seek to be supportive rather than criticising.

We explain the Christian Message in a clear and simple way, without using any complicated words or ceremonies, so that everyone is able to make sense of things and make an informed choice about finding out more.

We meet on Sunday mornings in the Memorial Hall, School Lane, Chalfont St Giles. We start with a cafe at 10.30 am – a chance to relax, chat and meet new friends. The formal part runs from 11.00 until about 12 or 12.15.  It’s followed by another chance for coffee and a chat, or sometimes lunch. We are happy for you to come and go as you please.

Our meetings are suitable for all ages. Children are integrated into our family life.  They can choose whether to use the area specially set aside for them with interesting activities, or join with the “grown ups”.

YOU are warmly invited to join us on any Sunday or at our midweek meetings (including The Rock Cafe).

With no strings attached, we offer pastoral help to all local residents through our Rock TLC service.
